Another Year Older, Another Year More Creative

Since I seem to be having a creative streak, what better birthday gift to give my best friend than a homemade one?? Once again, I resorted to my Pinterest obsession (follow me! http://pinterest.com/laurenbee15/) to find the perfect gift for her! Homemade gifts show that you are really thinking about their interests and you can have fun making it. Here's what I chose to make:

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles

YUMM!!! My best friend's birthday gave me an excuse to make something as delicious as this! The process to make this was time consuming, but totally worth it! Of course, I kept some for myself, and I will definately be indulging in these for every summer special occasion!

*The recipe calls for dark chocolate candy coating; I used chocolate syrup hard shell & it worked great!**

Bow Pillow

How cute is this?? Thanks to the help of my mom, I learned how to use the sewing machine and make this pillow! My BFF is moving into her house this summer, so I thought I would give her a cute addition (in her fav color!). It took longer than expected, but the result was worth it...I might make one for myself now!!

Hello SUMMER 2012!

After a horendous finals week, I am so excited to finally be on summer vacation! I can already tell that this will be a summer to remember. I already have different crafts, recipies, workouts, & vacation spots that I can't wait to experience, and share with you all!

Things I've Done Already:
First book of the summer!

My Review: It wasn't the best book I have ever read, but I enjoyed it! It had many things I could relate to; relationships, friendship, family craziness & going away to college. The setting was in Miami, FL which made me think about the beach...perfect for summer! I would recommend this book.

Melting Crayon Craft

How to:
  • Buy a white canvas (I got mine from Michael's Craft Store)
  • Buy an assortment of crayons (I made this with my friend, and we split a pack on 120 crayons)
  • Hot Glue the crayons in a design, however, make sure you leave enough space on the edges for the crayons to run
  • Make sure the glue is dried (give or take 2 mins) and use a hair dryer to melt the crayons...mine took about 10 mins but it all depends on your design/the strength of your hair dryer
  • Good luck!
